The Massif des Vosges covers two regions (Grand Est and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) and seven departments (Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Territoire de Belfort, Haute-Saône, Vosges, Meurthe-et-Moselle and Moselle) in north-eastern France.
The Massif des Vosges is a preserved and welcoming mountain region that is particularly appreciated by lovers of outdoor activities and attracts modern adventurers in search of authenticity, a return to their roots and wide open spaces.
More than 20.000 kilometres of marked trails await hikers. First of all, the “Traversée du Massif des Vosges” which follows a north-south axis from Wissembourg to Belfort over 400 kilometres in 19 stages and is one of the “Leading Quality Trails”. But there are also well-maintained and easily signposted routes for cyclists, mountain bikers and road cyclists.
Families will find unforgettable experiences in one of the 25 resorts in the holiday region.
The most authentic way to discover the region’s traditions is to visit the craftsmen. Over the centuries, many skills have been accumulated in the Vosges: from the textile industry to the art of glassmaking, from artistic carpentry to culinary specialities.
